DESCRIPTION
|
|
The Master of Forensic Sciences Administration is a Web-based program designed for individuals with academic or professional experience in forensic-related fields. Its purpose is to develop a broad knowledge of the various fields as well as specific knowledge of critical administrative issues in the forensic sciences. The Program include 36 hours of study--30 hours of required courses plus 6 hours of electives. All required courses and some electives are Web-based classes. In most cases, participants will have sufficient options to complete the Program via online courses. Program details are at http://healthsciences.okstate.edu/forensic/

SPECIAL ENROLLMENT ISSUES
|
|
To be eligible, applicants must have at least at least one year of academic or professional experience in the forensic sciences or in related fields.
An occasional online course may require attendance on campus over a long weekend; if so, the requirement and session dates will be listed in the course catalog prior to enrollment.
Applicants must also show evidence of satisfactory completion of college chemistry and biology to be admitted.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
|
|
Participation requires proficiency for using Windows, Internet, e-mail and basic office applications; a multimedia computer with 56K modem (or better); Internet and e-mail access for online courses; and purchase of specified version of Microsoft Office Professional software.

|
ACCESS TO LEARNING RESOURCES
|
|
The following resources are available to program participants:
(1) Password access to online courses via Blackboard courseware on a dedicated serve for consistent, secure delivery of courses.
(2) Course CDs with graphics, presentations, and other media or materials linked to online materials.
(3) Extensive support from the campus library, including remote access to the library catalog and to electronic databases for abstracts, full-text journals and books. Library staff will also assist online students needing help in securing materials not available electronically.
(4) Access to assigned readings on electronic reserve through Docutek.

ACCESS TO FINANCIAL AID RESOURCES
|
|
Although no special funding or grants are available for the MFSA, applicants needing assistance in applying for financial aid may contact the Office of Student Affairs for assistance at 1-800-677-1972. Any financial aid requires (1) admission to the program and (2) participation at least on a half-time basis (minimum of 5 hours).
